Tribute

Jason Roy Maston, 50, of King George County, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Mary Washington Hospital.

We mourn the passing of our father, grandfather, husband, brother, and son, Jason Roy Maston. Jason was an amazing father to his daughters Kaity and Ellison, he adored his granddaughter, Lillian “Lil”, and was a loving husband to his wife, Angel.

Jason was born at U.S. Naval Hospital-Balboa in San Diego, California on May 8, 1969. He grew up with his three brothers Travis, Darrell and Chris in Holtville, California and along with his brothers, Jason was a Holtville Viking. Jason was active in sports and had many friends, most notably his best buddy and honorary Maston family member, Jimmy Toten.

Jason served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy in 1988 as a Fire Controlman on the combat system Phalanx aboard the USS SHILOH. He traveled around the world with the Navy for over six years serving in many places to include the Mediterranean during Operation Desert Storm. Jason left the Navy in 1995 to continue refining surface weapons systems at Lockheed Martin before signing on with the Department of Defense. At DOD, Jason continued his work developing weapons systems at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) in King George County, Virginia.  During his tenure at DOD, Jason served at the U.S. Navy Base at Dahlgren and the Washington Navy Yards. At the time of Jason’s passing, he held the position of Standard Configuration System Engineer at NSWC Dahlgren, acquiring and developing technology, designing and ultimately deploying naval weapons systems.

Jason Maston was a loving father, grandfather, and husband to Kaity, Ellie, Lil and Angel. He was a wonderful son to our mother, Esther and late father, Ron. He was the best brother Trav, Darrell, and Chris could ever ask for. Jason was a Patriot, serving his country with honors for over three decades.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11, at Spotswood Baptist Church. Interment will be private.

Jay, may you Rest in Peace. We miss you so much. May God’s hand bring peace and comfort to the Maston family and all who knew and loved this great man.
