Joan Norma Miraldi, 84, of Stafford County, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020 at Adler Center for Caring.
Joan was a registered nurse who specialized in cardiac care, hospice, and later in her career she worked at BC/BS of Tennessee as a nurse consultant supervisor. She loved crossword puzzles, cards, and reading a good book. Joan was an expert in needlework and embroidering baby blankets for her family.
Joan was active in her church, serving as president for the United Methodist women’s group. Just before retirement, Joan and her husband, James, explored the world taking many cruise ship vacations. In recent years, she discovered ballroom dancing and entered the world of competitive dance, earning many awards. Joan loved people and always had a friendly smile and kind word for everyone.
Survivors include her children, Nancy DeGregory (John), Thomas Miraldi; grandchildren John DeGregory, Jamie Holaday, Jessica Pinson, and Christopher Miraldi; great-grandchildren Helen Holaday, James Holaday, Michael Holaday, Jesse Holaday, Ruby Pinson, Jude Pinson, and Aria Miraldi; and sister Judith Willson. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Vincent Miraldi.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 17 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 161 Embrey Mill Rd. Stafford, VA 22554. Interment will be private.
