Quiet by nature, there was no more loyal a man than John. Whether it be family, a friend or his career. John’s presence here on earth never went unnoticed.

John Robert “Bobbie” Cook, 73 of Locust Grove passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021. He was born on September 5, 1948 in Alexandria.

John retired a shop Foreman, for Southeast Sheet Metal Contractors of Woodbridge, Virginia for 40+ years after his prior service in the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division; serving two tours in the Vietnam War (1969-1971) being decorated with the Purple Heart. John was a participating member of the American Legion – 162 Lorton, Virginia.

You could always find John cheering on his Alabama Crimson Tide Football team on Saturdays, Washington Sports Teams, and NASCAR racing on Sundays!

He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Lynn Romniou, whom was the light of his life; son-in-law Antonios T. Romniou; granddaughter Sofia Lynn Romniou, of Auburn, Massachusetts; and two nephews Raymond R. Cook, III of Locust Grove and Timothy L. Cook, of Glade Spring.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Russell Cook, Sr. and Dorothy Louise Cook (Furr); brother Raymond R. Cook, Jr.; and sister-in-law Linda L. Cook.

John will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery.
