Jordan Elizabeth Diggins

September 27, 1988 ~ November 28, 2021 (age 33) 33 Years Old

Tribute

It is with the deepest sorrow and pain that the family of Jordan Elizabeth (Smith) Diggins announce her unexpected passing on November 28, 2021 at her home in Spotsylvania County.  She was a gentle and sweet soul and a truly beautiful and beloved daughter, sister, mother, wife, niece, friend, and co-worker.  She was born September 27, 1988 to Barry and Dana Smith in Williamsburg, Virginia.  Jordan spent her early years in Williamsburg, Key West, New York City, Newport, R.I., and finally the Massaponax area of Spotsylvania County enduring the moves of her dad’s Coast Guard career.  She was a delightful student and friend to many at Lee Hill Elementary, Thornburg Middle, and Massaponax High schools. She graduated from Ferrum College with a social work degree and soon after dedicated her time to working as a therapeutic foster care giver in the Richmond area.  She then devoted herself to helping infants, toddlers and their families for the Rappahannock Area Community Service Board – families that will no-doubt greatly grieve her sudden loss.

Jordan leaves behind her beloved children, Elijah and Sienna Diggins; and bonus daughter Rowen Diggins; their anguished dad and former husband, Louis Diggins; her grief-stricken mom and dad, Dana and Barry Smith of Merry Point, Virginia; brokenhearted sister Caroline Honrath; brother-in-law Joshua Honrath; nieces Madelyn and Elaina Honrath of Tampa, Florida; her children’s wonderfully supportive grandmother and grandfather Damita and Terrance Wright of Fredericksburg; and many loving and caring aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service for our cherished Jordan will be held at 12:00 noon on Sunday December 5, at Covenant Funeral Service, 4801 Jefferson Davis Hwy (rte. 1) Fredericksburg, Virginia. There will be no burial services or interment.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a recurring donation to the following: Empower House (empowerhouseva.org) dedicated to supporting local survivors of domestic violence (in memory of Jordan Diggins), and/or the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board to provide needed support to local families.

A gofundme donation site has been established for Jordan’s children and their father and can be found here: link to help two amazing children.  Please consider helping them as the sudden loss of their young mom will leave a forever hole in their lives in so many ways.
