Jorge Luis Delgado, 77, of Puerto Rico passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Mr. Delgado was born on April 6, 1942 in Hatillo, Puerto Rico to Honorio Delgado Garcia and Francisca Rodriguez Garcia. He moved to New York at the age of 12 years. He joined the Navy in 1960 and served on the USS Traverse County. After his tour of duty ended, he was in the Reserves until 1965. He married his wife, Eulalia Olmo Concepcion on June 22, 1963. They had two children, Luis G. Delgado and Diana Delgado Crespo. He worked for the Bell Telephone Company, later Verizon. When he retired, he and his wife returned to Puerto Rico.
He is survived by his wife, Eulalia; son Luis G. Delgado and his wife, Kelly Devlin; daughter Diana Delgado Crespo and her husband, Richard Crespo; grandsons Richard L. Crespo, Jonathan E. Crespo and Christopher N. Crespo; sisters Nilda Delgado Reyes and Sylvia Delgado Lopez; and several nieces; nephews; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Honorio Delgado and his mother, Francisca Rodriguez.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 17 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A Mass of Celebration will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18 at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
