Karl Joseph Dodd

Karl Joseph Dodd, 65, of Stafford County passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Mary Washington Hospital. Born on October 13, 1956 in Fredericksburg to the late Lonnie A. Dodd and Lillian R. (Stephens) Dodd.

Karl spent most of his years working on local farms for Milton Christy, Wilson Greenlaw, and Nelson Crocker. He used the knowledge he learned on these farms to also help run his family farm.
Karl enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandson. He enjoyed hunting and spending time at the barn with his cattle.

Karl is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathy (Taylor) Dodd; daughter Patricia (Dodd) Franklin (Brian); grandsons Andrew Simpson (Tessa) and Dawson Franklin; granddaughter Alexis Franklin; great-grandson Branson Simpson; bonus grandson Grayson Milligan (Jasmine); brother Wayne Dodd of Stafford; sister Mary (Dodd) Southall (Brion) of King George; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son, Karl Joseph Dodd, Jr.; and brother Ronnie A. Dodd.

Karl is also remembered by special friends, Ray Humphreys and family, Benny Lester, and Craig Kilhenny.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma society in Karl’s memory.
