Kevin John Mahoney

  Kevin John Mahoney, 64, began his eternal rest on September 7, 2019 at his home in Spotsylvania Virginia surrounded by his loved ones.  He entered the world on March 7, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland to Jean and Edward Mahoney.  He retired after many years as System Administrator from Booz, Allen & Hamilton and he was a faithful member of St. Jude Catholic Church. 

 Kevin grew up in Fairfax County, VA, graduating from Falls Church High School and received a master’s degree from Strayer University.  He loved his family, giving to charities, his church, music and concerts, traveling to historic places, reading, the Civil War and WWII, space travel, fast cars, the lottery, sci-fi movies, Star Trek, New York pizza and combos, hockey, basketball, QVC and his big screen TV. While living in England he traveled throughout Europe and had the opportunity in Ireland to kiss the Blarney Stone and dine in a medieval castle, look for the Loch Ness monster and party with a rugby team in Scotland and enjoy Paris while only dining in Chinese restaurants. 

 Kevin is survived by his mother Jean Mahoney; brother Jeff Mahoney (Cindy); sister Kathy Downing (Larry); his nephew, Kyle; nieces Tracy, Cortney, Lisa, Kacey, Erika, Willah, Krista, Layah and Ellanor; his cousins; aunts and uncle.  Kevin was a kindhearted, generous, thoughtful man.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. 

 The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 12, 2019, with a rosary service at 6:00 P.M. at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.  A service with be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, September 13 at St. Jude Catholic Church.  Interment will be in St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church Cemetery immediately following the service. 

 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church.
