Kevin Wellerman, 55, passed away on Sunday, September 6, in Richmond, Virginia.
Kevin was born in Mt. Vernon, IL, raised in White Oak, VA, and resided in Ruther Glen, VA. He graduated from Stafford High School in ’83. He was a Mommy’s boy, beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Kevin was a Navy Sailor, and sailed the USS Mauna Kea AE-22. After leaving the Navy he was a truck driver. In his spare time he was an avid fisherman. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, family, church family, friends, and taking care of his fur babies. He enjoyed running the church sounds boards and mowing the lawn at church and at home.
Survivors include his wife, Lynne Wellerman; mother, Ermal Henderson; father, Norman Wellerman; step-mother, Cathy Wellerman; sisters, Elisa Wellerman Bray and Samantha Straughan (Joey); adopted brother, Mike Sampson; nieces, Tonya Moore (Travis), Ren Usher, Adriana Usher, Amber Straughen, Kristen Straughen, Elizabeth Sampson, and Anna Sampson; father-in-law, Howard Olin, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Terri Olin and Renee Olin; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; close friends, Glen and Stephanie Blaydes; church family; and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his step-father John Wayne Henderson; and mother-in-law, Joyce Olin.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 17 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 17 at Covenant Funeral Service Chapel, Fredericksburg. Interment will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
