Larry W. Strother, Sr., 67, of Woodford, surrounded by his family at his home, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 5, 2019.
Larry retired from the Quantico Marine Corps Base after 31 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. Larry also enjoyed his trips to Charlestown with family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Wendy Luttrell and Larry Strother, Jr.; grandchildren Corey, Dylan, Tyler, Candice, Melissa, and Hope; great-granddaughter Bristol, whom he called Weasel, she was the apple of his eye and always had Papa wrapped around her finger; mother Addie Strother; and his siblings Eugene Strother, Jr., James Strother, and Linda Patrick. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren Brandon, Logan, and Lance; father Eugene Strother, Sr.; and sister, Betty Frame.
During his last few months he had two angels to help care for him, his nurses “T” and Faye, and he loved them so much.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Covenant Funeral Service Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
