Lawrence E. Chewning

Lawrence E. Chewning, 83, of Woodbridge passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at his home.

Lawrence was an automobile mechanic. He had a passion for Ford Hotrods, drag racing, NASCAR, car shows, and Elvis.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Seekford Chewning; children Craig Chewning (Georgia) and Michael Chewning (Colleen Botkin); grandchildren Brandy-Leigh Chewning Preece (Mitch), Dina Worley Moore (Mike), Tony Chewning (Jennifer), and Courtney Chewning Dunkle (Kyle); great-grandchildren Blake, Brock, Bryce and Blaine Moore, Landon, Taylor, Aden and Brad Chewning, Alex and Charlie Preece, and CV Dunkle; and nephew Chris Hudson (Donna). He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick “Fred” and Linda Compton Chewning; sister Doris “Dottie” Chewning; and nephew Scott Hudson.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will follow at Lee Hill Community Center, 1 H.C.C Drive Fredericksburg, VA 22408.
