Lois (Jarman) Deneke

Lois Jarman Deneke, age 94, passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at her home in Lake Ridge, VA.

Lois was born to Arthur Franklin Jarman (1899-1972) and Mary Campbell Jarman (1904-1970) on February 6, 1928 in Ashland, Nebraska. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1945 and from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Accounting in 1949. In September 1947, Lois married William L. Deneke, and they remained married until his death in 2000. She resided in Alexandria, VA from 1958 to 1978, working as an accountant for the American Horticultural Society, before retiring to Orange, VA. Lois resided at Westminster Lake Ridge since 2004.

Survivors include her two daughters, Katherine Clatanoff of Annapolis, MD and Sarah Deneke of Fredericksburg, VA; son William Lee Deneke of Nashville, TN; two grandchildren, Charles Clatanoff of Washington, DC and Melanie Clatanoff of Bentonville, AR; and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Benjamin Otis of Bentonville, AR.

Burial will be in a private ceremony at Laurel Hill Memorial Park in Chancellorsville, VA.
