Marc Richard Lopretto

Marc Richard Lopretto entered Heaven’s gates on November 26, 2020 at the age of 44.  He was born on November 11, 1976 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  

He spent his 21 year career providing custodial services at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA.  He enjoyed cheering for Pittsburgh’s many sports teams, but especially the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He also enjoyed watching NASCAR races and participated in bowling, basketball, and volleyball through the Special Olympics.  He was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church and enjoyed fellowship with the Friends for Life group.  

Marc was a special guy who was full of life and love.  He loved to meet new people and cared deeply about his family and friends.  His joyful heart left a lasting impression on those he met.   Please continue to find joy and happiness in life and love others as Marc did.  

He is survived by his grandfather John Swainson of Vowinckel, PA; mother Diane Wallace of Fredericksburg, VA; father Richard Lopretto (Phyllis) of Greensburg, PA; sisters Jennifer Dawson (Jason) of Fredericksburg, VA, and Megan Rezvani (Rob) of Springfield, NJ; nephews Caleb, Adam, and Luke Dawson; niece, Miya Rezvani; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he loved dearly.  

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Bernard and MaryLou Lopretto and his maternal grandparents Rosemary Swainson and Frank Derringer. 

Family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Covenant Funeral Service. A memorial service will follow at 3:30 PM in the funeral home’s chapel. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his Friends for Life group to allow them to continue to enrich the lives of adults with disabilities. Donations may be made payable to Hope Presbyterian Church at 11121 Leavells Rd., Fredericksburg, VA 22407. Please indicate Friends for Life on the memo line.
