Marie Andes Roberson, 74, of Spotsylvania passed from this world to join our heavenly Father and reunite with her heavenly family.
During her time here, she was employed in a variety of jobs, eventually retiring from the Federal Government. Of course her greatest job was being the mother of three sons.
She attended and was a member of several churches through her life time, all of which she was active in. In her earlier year, she was active in Sunday school and Vacation Bible Schools, serving in several roles. She also participated in choir. One of her roles later was her Card Ministry, which helped uplift many.
She was also very active at Mary Washington Hospital where she served as a volunteer in providing patient assistance and the Gift shop and then eventually becoming a Mary Washington Hospice Volunteer for the past 16 years.
She had a variety of hobbies including the love of entertaining family and friends. Many enjoyed her cooking with her most requested items being her potato salad, chicken salad, and meatballs. She could also be commonly found on the screened porch enjoying bird watching. Through the years, she could also be found attending various gospel singing events.
Great joy was also found in participating in the groups of family and friends who would meet for birthdays, social time, dining, and trips/vacations. Some of the more memorable being cruise trips and beach trips. During the retirement years, she and her husband, Marvin, often enjoyed day trips or weekend trips.
Survivors include her sons, Robin (Anita), Michael (Vicki), and Brian; sister Janice; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 48 years, Marvin.
A service will be held at noon on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Stafford Memorial Park.
