Marilyn Grace Griveas, 78, beloved wife of George Griveas, of Stafford passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Mary Washington Hospital. After a long and protracted fight with anemia, edema, kidney failure, and cirrhosis of the liver, Marilyn passed as a result of sepsis.

Marilyn attended Buffalo Business School and became an administrative assistant at WNED TV Public Broadcasting Service. She went on to be an accounts receivable clerk for SAIC in Alexandria. As the wife of an Army LTC, Marilyn was also responsible for the health and welfare of soldiers’ families.

Marilyn was an avid traveler to the Caribbean. In addition to owning a timeshare in Aruba since 1992, she travelled to over 20 beautiful islands with her adoring husband, George. She was Captain of a ladies’ bowling team, visiting over 100 cities and winning numerous awards in WIBC Tournaments.

Survivors include her husband, George Arthur Griveas; brother William D. Marinaccio (Joyce); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William J. and Mary Furioso Marinaccio.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. A graveside service at Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
