Marise Alcide, 76, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Born on April 30, 1946, in Acul-du-Nord, Haiti, Marise built a wonderful life for herself and her children in the United States. She was caring, loving, kind, funny, the life of the party, and even a little sassy. Marise was considered a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to those who loved her. You could always find her laughing, singing, and dancing to worship songs. Marise enjoyed gardening and going on early morning walks. She loved to cook and feed everyone around her. Marise would never let anyone leave her home empty handed or hungry. She was a strong woman of faith, attended church regularly, and led prayer line conferences.
She is survived by her daughters, Carine Lazarre and Lorveline Montreuil; grandchildren Tressy Young and Cedric Lambert; sister Marie Alcide Mathieu; nieces and nephews Steve, Herve, Jessie, Martine, and Kesnel Mathieu; and extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. A service will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Fredericksburg Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. At the conclusion of services, a small reception will be held at Fredericksburg Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Haitian Alliance Church.
