Our loving husband, father, and friend, Marshall Eugene Howard, Jr., 84, of Fredericksburg passed away surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at his home after a short illness with cancer.
Mr. Howard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from E.F. Thompson. Mr. Howard enjoyed bowling, boating, fishing, watching NASCAR races, wrestling, and spending time with his Pomeranian, Bandit (Fizzle Britches).
Survivors include his loving wife, Isabell; children Tamey Hitt (Bob), Debbie Maddox (Mike), Dreama Cook (Bobby), Linda Howard, Cathy Howard, Susan Johnson (Tim), David Nicholson, Billy Nicholson, Janice Wood (Steven), and Jeffrey Nicholson; 25 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; sisters Polly Satterwhite, Jean Wright, and Linda Cook; and brothers Frank Jordan and Robert Howard. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Satterwhite; father Marshall Howard; sister Marjorie Markham; and brother Edward Jordan.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Scott Walker, Brandon Walker, Jason Hitt, Kevin Hitt, Travis Howard, Kyle Cook, Alan Dove, Corey Tomes, Shane Tomes, Craig Howard, Dustin Wood, and Martin Gilbert.
