It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our mother, Mimi, sister, and best friend.

Mary Ellen O’Brien, 58, of Fredericksburg passed away unexpectedly into her parents arms on Friday, April 2, 2021.

Survivors include her daughters, Erica Duckworth (Chad), Heather Gill (Robert), Jennifer Maher (Sean Bell); sons Robert T. Maher, Jr. and Garrett Maher; the love of her life, her grandchildren, Tristen, Rylie, Gavin, Hayden, Greyson, Carson, Reese, Brooklyn, Chase, Killian, and Nolan; fiancé Brent Eckard; sisters Judy Marra, June Anderson, Jean Williams, Terry Clark, Valerie Gantt, and Cheryl Morris; and brothers Dennis O’Brien and Danny O’Brien. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mildred O’Brien; sisters Joyce Doggett and Virginia Busic; and brothers Robert James, Joseph T., and Charles Ray O’Brien.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 7 at Covenant Funeral Service Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 8 at Covenant Funeral Service Chapel, Fredericksburg. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
