Mary Elizabeth Robertson

Mary Elizabeth Robertson, 82, of Hartwood passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Poets Walk of Warrenton. She was born in Greenville on November 20, 1938. 

Mary was a homemaker, scout leader, and mother, who as a military wife, solely managed the home and kids during Emmett’s deployments. She was widely known for her cooking, crafting, and the ability to grow anything in a garden and as selfless person who cared for many.  Mary loved to travel reaching most of the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and the Holy Land. She was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Keith Robertson and Scott Robertson (Mary Ann); granddaughter Patricia Last (Scott); as well as Mary’s brother, Mark Hays; and sister Cora Lee Ellington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Robertson; parents, Oliver and Jannie Hays; brothers Raymond and Edward; sister Geraldine; sons Jeffery and Edwin; and daughter Fonda Kay.

Due to current risks, a private graveside service will be held at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton.
