Mary Louise Shelton

Mary Louise Shelton, age 75, of Fredericksburg VA, was born on September 25, 1946 to the late John Edward Standley and Christine Standley. She was educated at John J. Wright Consolidated School. Mary was a selfless person with a heart of gold who loved to cook, and was great at it. Mary Lou, as she was affectionately known, departed this life for her heavenly home on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Mary Washington Hospital.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory,  her mother, Christine Standley; son, Leo Shelton; daughter, Felicia Harris (Sean); brothers Otis Buckner (Bailene), John Henry Standley (Emma), George Standley and Walter Standley (Arlean); sisters, Ruby Jackson, Nellie Henderson (Leroy), Thelma Camp, Eyvonne Kerns, and Queen Harding (Michael); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.  

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 11 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 12 at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
