Mary Anne Rebecca Christiano, 82, of Stafford, VA, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2022, in Fredericksburg, VA surrounded by her loving family.
Mary Anne was born on December 10, 1939, to John and Alice Reilly in Scranton, PA. After Mary Anne graduated from Abington Heights High School in 1957, she went on to study Secretarial Arts at Lakawanna Junior College.
Mary Anne met Angelo on a Greyhound bus as they were both travelling from Scranton, PA to Newark, NJ for work. It was love at first sight, and they married on November 19, 1960 and had four children, Rebecca, Angelo, MaryAlice and Michael.
Mary Anne enjoyed making her home welcoming to all family and visitors. She loved to sew, quilt, crochet, and embroider. She enjoyed gardening, nature and the beach, and collected many shark teeth along the shore. She was a member of St. William of York Catholic Church, the Stafford Piecemakers Quilt Guild, the USS Bergall Association, and Landmark Yacht Club. She was a volunteer with Stafford County, VA Administration for over ten years.
Mary Anne was predeceased by her brother Michael McCafferty; sisters Mada Beyrent and Alice Houser; grandson Jeffrey W. Lawrence II (Jennifer A. Adams); and granddaughter Rachael R. Robey.
She is survived by her husband Angelo N. Christiano; brother John Patrick Reilly (Rita); four children Rebecca L. Trice (Timothy), Angelo N. Christiano II (Andrea), MaryAlice P. Dobbert (Thad), and Michael J. Christiano; 10 grandchildren Rebecca M. Figueroa (Gardy), Timothy R Trice, Jr. (Maura), Danielle N. Taylor (Paul), Samantha M. Trice, Patricia Y. Christiano, Shari Christiano, Nicholas R. Robey, Michael J. Christiano II, Anthony J. Christiano, and Meghan Wallace; and nine great-grandchildren Serenity R. Scatto, Gianni E. Figueroa, Liam E. Figueroa, Edward R. Trice, Gabrielle E. Trice, Jayden Taylor, Christopher J. Robey, Madilyn Christiano and Everleigh Christiano.
The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. A service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at St. William of York Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
