Michael J. Haddad, 72, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, born in Detroit, formerly of Willowbrook, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2021, at home in the arms of his loving wife, Ellen Searle Haddad.
Mike had a long career as a highly respected Corporate Real Estate Attorney, retiring in 2017. He also was an Adjunct Law Professor at North Central College and the College of DuPage. When asked by many why he chose Virginia as a retirement destination, he smiled and responded that Virginia is for Lovers. He always had a beaming smile, and shared wisdom and kindness with everyone he met. His love of music and his beautiful singing voice brought joy to those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen, his son Paul J. Haddad (Miranda) of Rochester Hills, Michigan, his grandsons Harrison and Houghton Haddad, a daughter, Jessica Collis, of Washington, D.C., and, a son, Michael Collis, of Lake Bluff, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Paul Haddad; grandson Hendrick Michael Haddad; and his sister, Lorraine Ziton.
He was a devoted uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that Memorial Donations be made in Michael’s name to Micah Ecumenical Ministries of Fredericksburg, Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank, the American Cancer Society, or any organization that provides in home Hospice Services.
