Richard T. “RT” Shackelford

Richard T. “RT” Shackelford, 49, of Stafford County passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at his home.

RT loved all sports, but especially loved watching his favorite football team, The Dallas Cowboys, and he loved NASCAR racing. RT was well-known as a perfectionist when it came to his work as a general contractor. He loved his work and put his heart into every job.

Survivors include his wife, Jamie Shackelford; children Catie Eaton (Chris Miller) and Travis Shackelford; grandchildren McKenzie Miller and Liliana Miller; siblings John Shackelford (Cindy), Teresa Branham (Mike), Nicholas Shackelford (Dan), and Lisa Shackelford; mother and step-father Tina Zaluski (Rob); and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Garland Shackelford; and step-mother Nellie Shackelford.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Ramoth Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Ramoth Baptist Church Cemetery.
