Robert Eugene Carneal

Robert Eugene Carneal, 90, of Caroline County passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021.

Robert was married to Isabel Searles Carneal for 60 years.  They had a beautiful life together.  He retired from the old FMC plant after 24 years.  Robert retired again from McLane Distribution Center.

He loved his family very much. Robert loved to hunt with his beagles, fish and play his guitar.  He had a touch of Alzheimer’s and was always worrying that his mother was ok.  In the last six months, his life took a down turn, broken hip, and then a stroke. But he was a good trooper and fought a good fight until his heart finally gave out.  Now he is in heaven with his mother and dad, two sisters, a brother, and is finally at peace. 

Survivors include his three children, Sharon, Michael, and Mark; five grandchildren Sean, Justin, Jamie, Lisa and Danny; 13 great-grandchildren; and eight sisters and brothers.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 1 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.    The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Haynes Hockaday Family Cemetery.
