Robert Cecil Wills, 77, of Dale City, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019 at his home.Mr. Wills was born in Charleston, W.Va., Kanawha County, to the parents of Wilbert C. Wills and Mary E. (White) Wills.

Mr. Wills moved to Annandale at the age of two. He attended Annandale High School and then graduated from Fork Union Military Academy Fork Union, Va., Class of 1959. Mr. Wills then attended UVA briefly and moved back to Annandale and attended night school at the Ben Franklin School of Accountancy where he obtained his degree.

Mr. Wills worked for Buchanan and Company CPA, in Washington, D.C. and then went to work for C. D. Hilton, Dale City for over 20 years. He was instrumental in laying the foundation of what Dale City has become today.  Mr. Wills then started his own company Sager, Inc. where took tax and property map information from Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. and published the information on Microfiche in which subscriptions were sold to local real estate offices. Mr. Wills then sold Sager, Inc. and opened up a scuba diving shop, Divers-Get-Away, in Lake Ridge. When he sold the dive shop he then took full time care of his mother until she passed. Mr. Wills then assumed the job of being a full time Paw Paw to his grandchildren.  He was always there for them to pick them up from school, transport them to after school activities, and attend Girl Scout meetings, dance completions and recitals. Lastly, his favorite job of being a Paw Paw was to tuck the four girls in at night while babysitting them.

Mr. Wills was an amazing father, most caring and loving Paw Paw, which was what he absolutely lived for in retirement. Being the oldest of all the 1st cousins and he always made sure the family was represented when no one else could. Mr. Wills’ passion and love of scuba diving, which his son got him interested, became his favorite hobby. He was very fortunate to travel extensively as a child with his father on several hunting trips and traveled again taking in many scuba diving adventures around the world. Mr. Wills always had a sense of humor up until the day he passed.

He is survived by his two children, Regina E. Wills of North Carolina and son William Gordon Wills and wife Kristy L. Wills of Stafford, Va. Their five children Anthony R. Wills of Richmond, Va. and Gracie, Hailey, Ryleigh, and Kaylee, all of Stafford, Va. His sister Sherrie Sue Wills of Calif. and Teresa May of Manassas, Va. and her son’s John-Randall and Cameron Gorby. Three aunts Annabelle Wills of Haymarket, Va. Betty Bailey of Fla., and Lily Oatfield of N.C.

He was preceded in death by his mother Mary E. (White) Wills and father W. C. Wills and his wife Sally, and their son Whitney C. Wills.

A celebration of life will held at 10 a.m. at Mount Ararat Church in Stafford on Thursday, May 30. A luncheon will follow at noon at the church. Interment will be in Fairfax Memorial Gardens at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 31.
