Roger Keith Brooks

Roger Keith Brooks, 61, of Spotsylvania County passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at UVA hospital in Charlottesville after a battle with cancer. 

Born November 7th, 1959, Brooks was a dedicated family man to his wife and daughters. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He loved nothing more than Sunset Beach vacations and grilling at home surrounded by his family and friends, he welcomed everyone. He enjoyed his 20+ years and friendships he made working at Luckstone. Brooks was a hard worker both at work and home. He never wanted to sit idle, his work ethic was impeccable. There was always a chore to be done or someone to help in his mind. He led by example that way; being dependable, helpful, and loving. Brooks never felt freer than when he rode his white Harley Davidson down the Spotsylvania country roads that he had traveled his entire life. 

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Laura S. Brooks; daughters Tanya Galyen (Travis), Leeann Gibson, and Amber Wilson (Kevin); 9 grandchildren Kimberlyn Gibson, Logan Hogsed, Alana Hawkins, Kelcie Gibson, Evan Galyen, Antoine Boyd, Ariana Boyd, Riley Wilson and Kaden Wilson; parents Roger Brooks and Ann Stephens; siblings Debbie Rizzo, Kimberly Brooks Cahall, and Jeff Brooks. And last but not least his best friend Buddy (The dog). 

Brooks was preceded in death by his brother, Greg Brooks; grandparents; step-father Daniel Stephens; grandson Darian Gibson; and a few dear friends and family members. 

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held privately.
