Shannon Marie Lucas

March 4, 1980 ~ June 13, 2020 (age 40) 40 Years Old

Tribute

Shannon Marie Lucas of Stafford, VA left this earth on Saturday, June 13th.

Shannon was a beloved wife, devoted mother, wonderful daughter, cherished sister, and doting aunt.

She will be remembered for so many things by the countless people who loved her. Her beautiful voice and never missing a chance to belt it out, with the windows down and the wind in her hair; the way she could tell a story; reliving memories time and time again, but somehow always making it funnier than the last; how wherever she went she brought light and comfort; a calming warmth that was unmatched. To simply meet Shannon, was to love her. Her love for all things extravagant; how she embodied glitter and glam and yet held the simplest joys closest to her heart; her complete lack of grace, being the clumsiest person we all knew-but her ability to always get back up, laughing in hysterics at herself; her unwavering friendship and her ability to always know what to say in moments we needed it most; a support that was endless from a heart that was unmeasurable-but most of all she will be remembered for how fiercely she loved her family. Her love for her husband and children will always be what made Shannon, Shannon.

Her love is kept alive by her husband, Daryl. Her high school sweetheart and self-described soulmate, whom she married in 2007; the true loves of her life, her children, Savannah, Jackson and Charlotte, we ask for your prayers for them the most; her devoted father, Christopher “Kelly” Swartz; her cherished siblings; her pieces, Culum Swartz, Katie Swartz and Kerri Swartz; her nieces she loved as her own, Kenzie, Lucy, Amelia and Violet; as well as many close aunts, uncles and cousins who also meant the world to her.

Waiting beyond the stars was her mother; her grandparents; her uncles; her father in law; a cousin; and her best friend all of whom Shannon missed with every breath she took. We take immense comfort in the fact that she is with them again.

In lieu of donations, we ask that you take a moment to hug your child, mother, sister, or friend; or walk in the woods for a moment, an hour, or a day. Time waits for no one.

A celebration of Shannon’s life will be held at her home 1002 Ramoth Church Rd, Fredericksburg, VA, 22406. To follow will be a twilight gathering for close friends and family.

Flowers may be sent to the address above.
