Stephen J. Stofko

Stephen J. Stofko, 87, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022. 

He was born on March 13, 1934 to Stephen P. and Mildred C. Stofko in Conneaut, OH. Steve was a 1956 graduate of the University Of Notre Dame and a 1963 graduate of Georgetown University Law School. He served three years in the United States Air Force. After 25 years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Steve retired as a Special Agent and then served the Department of Defense as a private contractor for an additional 10 years. In addition, Steve was a lifetime member of the Virginia State Bar and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed family time, sailing, and travel. 

Steve is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean C. Renfro Stofko. Also surviving are their four daughters, Millie (Carl) Morgans, Margie (Garry) Secor, Mary (Paul) Brown, Missie (T.J.) Eberle and their families, including 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. 

Predeceasing him were his parents and two sisters, Maribel (Neal) Ansbro and Estella Stofko. 

A Catholic funeral Mass will be held for the family, followed by a burial at Quantico National Cemetery. All services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
