Steven R. Matter

Steven R. Matter, 71, of Fredericksburg, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at his home.

Steve enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and farming especially, but he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren most of all. As a father, Steve was always there for his family when they needed him. He was loved very much and will be missed greatly.

Survivors include his children, Matthew Matter (Laura) and Stephanie George (Brandon); grandchildren Skylar George, Alyssa George, and Nora Matter; and siblings Cheri Matter, Nancy Butzner, Laurie Jones, and Michelle Smith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary M. Green; father Harlan G. Matter; and step-father James N. Green.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Fredericksburg Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fredericksburg Baptist Church.
