Tezshera N. Peyton

Tezshera N. Peyton, 37, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She was born May 20, 1985 in El Paso, Texas, to George Downey and Tammy Simien. She was a 2004 graduate of Courtland High School where she excelled in track and softball.

Known for her strong but silent demeanor and infectious smile, Tezshera was exceptionally beautiful on the inside and out. She enjoyed modeling and all things fashion. Tezshera earned credits as a model in ad campaigns, including the urban clothing store Up Against the Wall, as well as modeling in and around the DC area.

Her greatest accomplishments came on September 23, 2010 and September 20, 2012 when her two sons were born. Tezshera was the quintessential “Boy Mom”. Blessed with natural athletic abilities of her own, she loved traveling with her boys to numerous sporting practices and games often coaching them from the stands.

Those left to cherish the memory of Tezshera "Tez" include her sons, Jasper and Jayce Peyton (Fredericksburg, VA); mother Tammy Simien (Fredericksburg, VA); father George Downey (Cary, NC); step-father Craig Parris (Fredericksburg, VA); grandmother Shirley Simien (Fayetteville, AR); grandfather Paul Simien (Lake Charles, LA); sister Chardonnay Collins and brother-in-law Christophe Collins (Houston, TX); brother Craig "Cree" Parris, Jr. (Atlanta, GA); step-sister Kamara Parris (Atlanta, GA); best friend/sister Kateasha Fields (Fredericksburg, VA); aunt Sonya Edwards (Ruther Glen, VA); cousins Chevonne Edwards (Fayetteville, AR) and Melvin "MJ "Edwards, Jr. and wife Tiara (Yorktown, VA).

Family and Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on September 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Covenant Funeral Service, located at 10830 Patriot Highway, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.
