Valarie Ann "Val" Fitzgerald

Valarie “Val” Fitzgerald, 62, of Locust Grove was born July 15, 1958 and found eternal peace in passing  on November 12, 2020. Val was a woman of many talents, careers and accomplishments, but she is  most well-known for being a master seamstress, the queen of crafting and Northern Virginia’s best swim  coach to hundreds, if not thousands. She was a true beach lover; arriving bright and early, then not  leaving until the sun went down. Her family hopes she has now found a nice beach in heaven that she  never has to leave.  

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Matt Fitzgerald, Sr.; her four children, Matt Fitzgerald Jr.,  Kyleigh Fitzgerald Gazzolo, Patrick Fitzgerald and John Fitzgerald; three grandchildren, two daughter-in laws and one son-in-law; as well as her parents Stephen and Maureen McArdle, 7 brothers and sisters,  and their families.  

A Catholic service will be held next weekend, but will be limited to just her family due to current  restrictions. More details to come about a specific date and time.
