Walter Y. Meadows

It is with very sad hearts we announce the passing of our loved one, Walter Y. "Walt or Chubby" Meadows, Jr., who passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Mary Washington Hospital.

Walt was born on March 7, 1954, he was 65 years of age. He was a lifetime long resident of Spotsylvania County and member of Massaponax Baptist Church. Walt was a barber by trade until he began working at Maru Pet Shop; while there his health required him to retire. However, he continued to have a love of animals and fostered many pets. Walt's generosity, humor and kindness will be missed by many.

Walt is survived by his uncles and aunts, which include Sidney "Mac" Dempsey who he affectionately called Daddy Mac, John Meadows, Sidney Meadows (Ella), Lula Gildeman, Jane Aylor (Henry), and Veda Aylor; and numerous cousins. Walt was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara Meadows and Walter Meadows.

There will be a celebration of life service for Walt at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Massaponax Baptist Church, 5105 Massaponax Church Road, Fredericksburg, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
