William Ray "Bill" Todd, Sr.

July 19, 1941 ~ February 6, 2024 (age 82) 82 Years Old


William Ray “Bill” Todd, Sr., 82, of Fredericksburg, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Bill was Born to Elmer (Whitey) and Catherine Todd on July 19, 1941 in Washington DC. He enjoyed sharing stories of his childhood with siblings and extended family while being raised on a farm in McHenry, Virginia. This start led to Bill’s service in the United States Navy and the beginning of his ability meet and befriend people from all reaches of life. Bill gained many lifelong friends and acquaintances from his time as owner of Big A Auto Parts, many years with Purvis Ford, his interest in travel, aviation, golf and numerous other hobbies including an interest in cooking later in life.  By far his greatest love was for God and his family. Bill took great pride in his family and passed on his work ethic, caring personality, and ability to help whenever needed. 

Left to carry on his legacy is his loving wife of 28 years, Burnley B. Todd; children, Kim Vaughan (Donna), Ray Todd (LaDonna), and Kim Stover (Jay); grandchildren Alex Vaughan (Kelsey), Paul Vaughan, Dana Runals (Matt), Caleb Stover, and Emma Stover (his little Punk); three beautiful great-grandchildren; sisters Barbara Hamrick (Bruce) and Cheryl Blansett; brother Douglas Todd (Gloria); many nieces and nephews; and two brothers by choice, Jay Brown and Ray Ward (Mary). He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Wright.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Lignum, Virginia.
