Yong Ae Roop

Yong Ae Roop, 73, of Spotsylvania passed away on January 16, 2021 at her residence.

She served as the head of the Lorton Safety Committee at Amtrak Auto Train. She won multiple awards during her 16-year tenure.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Stephen Roop; her three sons and their wives, Chad and Angela, Sean and Julia, Dale and Amanda; her 10 grandchildren, Stephen, Autumn, Dale Jr., Alanna, August, Logan, Mary, Regan, Zachary, and Easton; one great-grandchild, Zoe. She was preceded in death by her parents in Korea; her mother-in-law and best friend, Edna Roop.

A service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 23 at Covenant Funeral Service Fredericksburg. For those that do not wish to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed. The link can be found on the online guest book. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens for family. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
