Andrew Young “James” Tingen, 84, of Prince William County passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Heathcote Health Center.
He moved from Fairfax to Manassas in 1976 and lived there ever since. His beloved hobby was flying. After his retirement, he received his pilot’s license and flew his Cessna from the Manassas airport.
Survivors include wife Gloria Patricia “Pat” Tingen; daughters, Patty Parmer, Linda Gale Clements, and Deborah Leigh Morgan; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister Dorothy T. Mellen.
He was predeceased by his parents John Ridley and Ruby Young Tingen; brother John Tingen; and sister Ruey Turner. Pallbearers will include Michael Parmer Sr., Chris Clements, Hal Brady, Andy Brady, Wyatt Cook, and Kris Parmer; and Larry Moyers is the honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends from 10-11:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Covenant Funeral Service Lee Chapel.
A graveside service will be held at noon Monday, Feb. 11, in Stonewall Memory Gardens.

Sorry to hear about Shorty. He will be missed by many. My dad enjoyed and cherished the many hours they shared together flying their small planes. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
