To Pat’s Family~
Pat was a devoted mother, a Christian wife, a doting grandmother, a GREAT teacher [for two years in Nursery School for my son], a stalwart and supportive member of Ferry Farm Baptist and a community worker–especially with her excellent photography–who lived out her Christian beliefs until her once active days were compromised by a worsening disease which would have stopped the involvement of others with such physical limitations and pain as hers. Pat steadfastly refused to allow her activities to be described by pain and her life to be centered around her losses. The Fredericksburg Area has benefited greatly from her life and service on Earth. Thanks be to God for the teaching and witness of this lady!
I was saddened to learn of Pat’s passing. Please know that your Family is in my prayers during this difficult time.
Please know that your Family is in our thoughts and prayers. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal. – unknown”

So sorry to hear of Pat’s recent passing. I am so sorry for your loss. Pat was a close friend of my Mom’s, Thelma Sload, who passed away in January of 2008. They both were chapter members of Ferry Farm Baptist Church and made everyone around them better people. My niece went to her preschool in Ferry Farm and enjoyed it. Pat was my main competition at the photography show for many, many years at the Fredericksburg Community Center. We always wondered ” What has Pat entered this year?” It was a fun rivalry and Pat was a terriffic photographer. She will be missed by the many lives she has touched. I’m sure my Mom welcomed her to her heavenly home with open arms. May God heal your hearts and lessen your feeling of such a great loss. God bless you and yoru family.

I have fond memories of Mrs. Barker from when I attended her preschool in the late eighties. I can still remember the way she used to mix two types of juice for me so I could have a “special flavor.” She was a very special lady in my life, and the picture that she took of me while I was in her class still hangs on my parents’ walls.
I was also very good friends with her grandson, Jeremiah. I know that he is happy to be in her company again.
God bless your family, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Lynn & Phil,
So sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing.
I was at the F’Burg fair just this past Saturday and ran into old friends of ours, the Gordon sisters. We talked about Gary Melchers and high school, we talked about you, Lynn, wondering how you were doing. Hope we can talk soon and catch up.
Again, so sorry for your loss. Your Mom was great.
I only knew Ms. Barker from being a customer of mine in the Commissioner of the Revenue’s office. I also knew her daughter Lynne and her husband as well. I am so sorry for your loss. Try and hold on to your wonderful memories of your mother and hold them dear to your heart.
I was so sorry to hear about Pat Barker’s passing. She was a loving and most patient teacher to my two sons, Robert and Brandon. Not only was she a great teacher but she took personal interest in each child. She taught them not only school subjects but how to get along with others and be considerate to all. Thank you Pat!
My condolences, on behalf of my entire family,
including my children J.C. and Jennifer, who
were so aptly guided in pre-school by Pat.
Pat’s infectious smile and helping hand will be always remembered even as discomfort invaded her body. May God be your source of comfort as you continue to live in the memory of the good times we all shared with her.

Dear Lyn & Philip~
I knew your mom–Pat Barker– through Ferry Farm Baptist
Church, plus she was my neighbor.~ She taught my daughter in Children’s church.– Pat always wore a Smile;; and always spoke words of Praise for our dear Lord;– spoke Blessings -of her trip to the Holy Lands~ ~ always – kept her date, with Mickey Barker @ their favorite Italian Restaurant.
~ I hope the one’s she taught, will teach her examples in return–& let people hear you tell of the wonderful lady that blessed your youth–named -Pat Barker,–R.I.P. dear Freind.
What a lovely lady Pat Barker was! Sending my daughter to her Humpty Dumpty pre-school was the best decision I ever made…Holly’s first school experience was such a positive one, and she loved “Miss Barker” so much, even when it was necessary to be placed in the “Time Out/Thinking Corner”! Holly would come home, spouting Spanish, singing the “Big Old Bullfrog, down in the meadow” song for us at dinner, and sharing so much else that she’d learned with Miss Barker’s help.
So many were privileged to be in her loving care. I am very thankful that my child was among these! Rest in peace, dear Miss Barker…you’ve certainly earned it while here on earth. My prayers are with you, Lynn. Sorry I didn’t get to speak with you at the service, but you’re in my thoughts now. Fondly, Sydney and Holly

Dear Lynne and Phil: I am so sorry to hear that your mom left this world to be with our God and Saviour. I am sure she had a wonderful welcome in heaven, as she was a Christian through and through. My daughters Katya and Nadya attended her preschool, and learned values in their early years. Iattended Pat’s prayer/bible study group for many years and can’t tell you how much support and strength I gained through her teachings. Thank you Pat – wonderful mother, wife, teacher and friend. I have many fond memories of her, and am sure, you
do also May God bless you and give you peace and strength for the future.
Love,
Helga
