Willard H. Snellings
Willard “Jughead” Hartley Snellings, Jr., 86, of Falmouth, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Mary Washington Hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of the Falmouth area in Stafford.
Mr. Snellings served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. After retirement from the Navy, he worked construction in Reston, the Quantico MCB Dependents School System, and Berry Bros. Produce. He was a member of the local VFW#3103 and the American Legion #290.
He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Samuels Snellings; four children, Billy Snellings and Dreama Long, of Stafford, Joey Snellings and his wife, Paula, of Madison, Ray Harding and his wife, Teresa, of Spotsylvania; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, February 10, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Robert DelBuono, Bryce Long, R.J. Harding, Joshua Snellings, David Snellings, and Kyle Boutchyard.
Memorial donations may be made to Mary Washington Hospice, 5012 Southpoint Parkway, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22407.
Henrietta & family – I am so sorry for your loss. You will be in my prayers as you say goodby to husband, father, grandfather & friend. I know that God will comfort you as you walk thru this season of your life.
Uncle Jug was a sweetheart and I will miss him so much. He was always so warm and welcoming to me and I know his family was the most important thing in his life. May The Lord comfort all of you and grant you His peace. With deep love, your niece Sandy
